After teaching history for 31 years at the high school and college level, I have recently retired in order to have time for research and writing.   Living in central New York offers a wide range of historical topics:  abolitionism, religious movements, women’s rights,  and industrialization and de-industrialization, for example.  I have published articles on women workers in upstate New York industries, but there are few historical events or trends that don’t interest me!

This is a blog for those who believe that we can not truly appreciate our lives today without understanding what has come before.
